Join the founding team
We're hiring two exceptional people to build vote.direct from the ground up. These are the only roles we're filling—each with meaningful equity and the expectation that you'll shape the company's trajectory.
Why join as a founder
This isn't a job—it's an opportunity to build something from zero
2% Equity
Meaningful ownership stake. Vested over 1 year with 45-day cliff.
Ground floor
Shape the product, culture, and company trajectory from day one.
AI-native stack
Build with the most efficient tools: Claude Code, agentic frameworks, modern infrastructure.
High impact
Your work directly affects millions of decisions. Real users, real stakes.
Two roles. Two exceptional people.
We're looking for builders who thrive in ambiguity and ship relentlessly
Founding Engineer
Build the technical foundation of verified voting infrastructure. You'll own the entire stack—from identity verification to cryptographic vote integrity to real-time results. This is a founding role with significant equity and the expectation that you'll help shape every technical decision.
What you'll do
- Own the full product lifecycle: architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Build secure, scalable voting infrastructure handling identity verification (Stripe Identity, government IDs), ballot generation, vote collection, and tamper-evident results
- Design and implement compliance frameworks for financial regulations, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), and election integrity standards
- Create AI-powered features using agentic frameworks for voter assistance, fraud detection, and automated compliance checking
- Establish engineering culture, CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and documentation standards for the team we'll build
Requirements (non-negotiable)
- 5+ years building production applications with TypeScript, React/Next.js, and PostgreSQL
- Deep understanding of security: authentication flows, cryptographic primitives, secure data handling, and threat modeling
- Direct experience with compliance requirements: SOC 2, GDPR, financial regulations, or identity verification standards
- Proficient with AI-assisted development: Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools—you ship 3-5x faster than traditional workflows
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or custom implementations) for building autonomous systems
- Strong opinions on code quality, testing strategies, and system design—backed by experience shipping and maintaining systems at scale
- Excellent written communication: you document decisions, write clear PRs, and can explain complex systems simply
- Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity: you identify what needs to be built and build it without detailed specifications
Preferred experience
- Built identity verification or KYC/AML systems (Stripe Identity, Persona, Jumio, or similar)
- Worked on voting, election, or high-integrity decision systems
- Experience with Stripe Connect, payment orchestration, or financial infrastructure
- Background in cryptography: digital signatures, zero-knowledge proofs, or verifiable credentials
- Contributed to or maintained open-source projects
- Previous founding engineer or early-stage startup experience (seed to Series A)
- Understanding of corporate governance, shareholder voting, or DAO mechanics
What success looks like
- →30 days: Shipped meaningful features, understand the entire codebase, established your development rhythm
- →60 days: Owned and delivered a major system (identity verification, compliance framework, or core voting logic)
- →90 days: Defined technical roadmap for next 6 months, established engineering practices, ready for team growth
This isn't for you if...
- ✕You need detailed specifications to start working—we need builders who identify problems and solve them
- ✕You're not comfortable with AI-assisted development—this is a non-negotiable part of our workflow
- ✕You optimize for perfect code over shipping—we iterate fast and improve continuously
- ✕You've never dealt with compliance, security, or regulated systems—this is core to what we build

Founding Distribution Lead
Own how vote.direct reaches the world. You'll build the go-to-market engine from scratch—defining our positioning, creating distribution channels, and driving adoption across enterprises, DAOs, unions, HOAs, and every organization that needs verified voting.
What you'll do
- Define and execute go-to-market strategy: identify beachhead markets, craft positioning, and build repeatable acquisition channels
- Build distribution partnerships with platforms where our users already exist (corporate governance tools, DAO tooling, community platforms)
- Create content strategy that establishes vote.direct as the authority on verified voting—thought leadership, case studies, technical content
- Own the full funnel: awareness, acquisition, activation, retention—with clear metrics and rapid experimentation
- Build and manage relationships with enterprise prospects, understanding complex sales cycles and stakeholder management
- Develop viral and product-led growth mechanisms embedded in the voting experience itself
Requirements (non-negotiable)
- 5+ years in growth, marketing, or business development at B2B SaaS companies—with measurable results you can attribute to your work
- Track record of 0-to-1 distribution: built channels from scratch, not just optimized existing funnels
- Deep understanding of technical products: you can credibly discuss APIs, integrations, and security with technical buyers
- Proficient with AI tools for content, research, and automation—you use Claude, ChatGPT, and AI workflows daily to move faster
- Experience with enterprise sales cycles: procurement, security reviews, legal requirements, multi-stakeholder decisions
- Strong network in at least one of: corporate governance, crypto/DAOs, unions, nonprofits, or community platforms
- Excellent writing: you can create compelling content, cold outreach, and sales materials that convert
- Data-driven decision making: you set up attribution, run experiments, and kill what doesn't work quickly
Preferred experience
- Worked at or sold to organizations in governance, compliance, or voting (corporate secretaries, proxy advisors, election services)
- Built partnerships with platforms (Slack, Discord, Notion, governance tools) that drove significant distribution
- Experience with product-led growth: viral loops, referral programs, or network effects
- Background in regulated industries where trust, compliance, and security are core buying criteria
- Previous startup experience where you wore multiple hats (marketing, sales, partnerships, product)
- Understanding of crypto/Web3 distribution: DAO tooling, token-gated communities, or decentralized governance
- Public speaking or thought leadership: podcast appearances, conference talks, or published content with reach
What success looks like
- →30 days: Mapped the market landscape, identified top 3 distribution channels to test, launched first experiments
- →60 days: Closed first enterprise pilots, established content cadence, built initial partnership pipeline
- →90 days: Proven repeatable acquisition channel, defined GTM playbook, revenue or strong pipeline metrics
This isn't for you if...
- ✕You've only worked at companies with established brands—we need someone who can build from zero
- ✕You're not technical enough to have credibility with technical buyers—our customers evaluate security deeply
- ✕You rely on large budgets for paid acquisition—we need creative, capital-efficient growth
- ✕You've never sold to enterprises or navigated complex procurement—this is a significant part of our market
