Managed digital elections remain available, and so does paper: mailed ballots returned to our mail scanning address, which we tabulate remotely, and self-serve paper ballots your team prints, hands out at its own meeting and scans in.

Each $6.00 packet includes domestic US mail, up to 4 pages, and a return envelope with prepaid postage: the packet goes out, and it comes back in an envelope that already has the postage paid on it, so the member never buys a stamp. There is no separate postage line on your invoice. The return envelope is addressed wherever you designate: your inspector, your management office, or our neutral election address, a mail scanning location. Returns that come to us we tabulate remotely; returns that go to you are entered by your board in the dashboard, ballot by ballot, with a photo of each on the record. A mailed ballot counts when it reaches the return address on the envelope by the close date in your notice: received by, not postmarked by, so nobody has to adjudicate a smudged postmark after the count has started. We work backwards from your close date at kickoff and give you the mail-by date to print on the packet.
The inspector role
vote.direct offers its own inspector service in Colorado, Nevada, Florida, Texas (homeowners associations only, not condominiums), Arizona and Maryland, for now only where neither the vote nor the count happens in person. We do not serve as inspector in California. Everywhere else you appoint the inspector or neutral counter your documents call for, and we run the election underneath them.

Can vote.direct run an in-person election and provide the staff?

A managed digital election covers ballot setup, roster preparation, notices, reminders, voter support, quorum monitoring, the tally, result certificate and audit package.
How much does an in-person election with staffing cost?
There is no price for it while it is paused. Managed elections that need our staff physically present, such as an in-person vote or count, are paused for now. A managed digital election starts at $199 for up to 100 voters, including the platform fee. Larger rosters add a per-voter price that falls as the election grows, from $1.50 down to 10 cents, up to 5,000 voters. Mailed ballot packets are $6.00 each, which includes domestic US mail, up to 4 pages, and a return envelope with prepaid postage; returns that come to our mail scanning address we tabulate remotely.
Can one election combine online, mailed and in-person ballots?
Yes. Online ballots, mailed paper returns and ballots cast at your meeting can count in one tally and one audit record. Managed elections that need our staff physically present, such as an in-person vote or count, are paused for now. Until they resume, your team runs the in-person part: it prints numbered meeting ballots, hands them out at the meeting and scans them in. The voting methods must fit your governing documents and election rules.
Is on-site election staffing the same as hiring an inspector of elections?
No. On-site staff operate the ballot station and count; an appointed inspector has the oversight and certification role. Managed elections that need our staff physically present, such as an in-person vote or count, are paused for now. vote.direct offers its own inspector service in Colorado, Nevada, Florida, Texas (homeowners associations only, not condominiums), Arizona and Maryland, for now only where neither the vote nor the count happens in person, for $300 on top of the managed price. We do not serve as inspector in California. Where a separate independent inspector is needed, we coordinate the administration with that inspector.
What do we need to send to plan a managed election?
Send the election dates, eligible voter count, ballot content, governing rules and proposed voting methods. We confirm the work each party will perform and the total price in writing. Your board retains nominations, candidate statements and election-rule decisions; legal review stays with your counsel.
