Verify an election yourself
An election record is only worth as much as your ability to check it. Drop the audit package below and this page recomputes it in your browser: every hash in the audit chain, and, for a sealed election, the ballot box against the checksum recorded when voting closed.
The file never leaves your computer. It is read and hashed in your browser, and no part of it is sent anywhere, so the result does not depend on vote.direct being honest, online, or in business.
Being exact, because this is a page about checking rather than trusting: opening it records an anonymous page view, the same as every other page on this site. That request carries no part of your file, and it is sent before you choose one. You can confirm all of this in your browser's network tab, and you should.

What this proves
That the records in the file are internally consistent and have not been altered since the election closed: no event edited, none deleted, none moved to a different place in the sequence, and, on a sealed election, no ballot added, removed, or changed since the box was mixed at close.
What it does not prove
- That the right people were on the roster. Who was eligible is your association's decision, recorded in the package but not something arithmetic can settle.
- That the people who voted were who they said they were. That is what the verification level on each ballot records.
- That the election followed your governing documents or your state's statutes. No software can tell you that, and we will not claim otherwise.
The limit worth knowing
These checks are computed from records vote.direct produced. They will catch a record altered after the fact. They cannot, on their own, prove what happened at the moment the election closed, because we are the ones who wrote the record. That is a real gap and we would rather name it than let you assume otherwise. Two things narrow it today: the results certificate prints the chain's head hash, so a copy in a board packet from the day is an anchor a later rewrite cannot reproduce, and the sealed ballot box's checksum is written inside the same transaction that mixes the box, which cannot be added afterwards.
We are closing the rest of that gap with an independent timestamp on every closing record, from a party we do not control. When it ships it will appear here.
