Church voting

Every member gets a ballot,
wherever they are.

Pastor calls, budgets, elders, and building campaigns, voted by the whole congregation instead of whoever made it to the meeting. Verified against your membership directory, secret when it must be, and documented for your minutes.

  • Votes up to 25 members are free
  • Email and text ballots included, mailed ballots for members without either
  • Sealed secret ballots for pastoral and personnel votes

Questions about your election? Call or text (512) 222-8191

A person answers. HOA, condo, co-op, and church boards work with the same specialist from setup to certification. No phone tree.

What a Sunday-only vote costs you

The business meeting decides. The problem is who never gets into the room.

Sunday-only voting excludes members

Elderly, homebound, traveling, and multi-campus members miss business meetings. Decisions are made by whoever shows up that day.

Hand counts leave no record

When a pastoral call or a budget decision is questioned later, a show of hands and a tally sheet cannot answer who was eligible, who voted, or how the count was reached.

Sensitive votes need real secrecy

Pastor calls, staff compensation, and personnel matters need ballot secrecy that a raised hand in a room can never provide.

What congregations vote on here

From pastoral calls to building campaigns

Pastor and senior minister callsDeacon and elder electionsAnnual budget approvalBuilding campaign decisionsBylaw and constitution amendmentsStaff and personnel votesMission and outreach fundingCommittee appointments

The record shows who voted. Never how anyone voted.

A pastoral call divides a congregation when members wonder who saw their ballot. You choose how strong the secrecy is before the vote opens, and the choice is printed on the election for everyone to see.

Anonymous

Leadership, published results, and every export show the tally without any voter's name attached to any ballot. The roster still records who participated, so quorum holds.

The right default for budgets, elders, and amendments.

Sealed ballot

The ballot is stored with no link to the member at all, and the box cannot be opened before the close. Nobody, including us, can ever connect a member to a ballot afterward.

Built for pastor calls, compensation, and personnel votes.

One tally, four ways to reach it

Every member gets whichever channel actually reaches them, and every ballot lands in the same count. Homebound members, members without email, and members across campuses are all in the same election.

Email

Each member opens their own ballot link, verifies, and votes in about a minute, from any phone or computer.

Text message

The same ballot sent to their phone, for members who never open email.

Letter, $3.00

A mailed letter carrying that member's own voting code. Anyone in the household can help them scan it and vote.

Paper packet, $6.00

A printed ballot with a postage-paid return envelope. We receive the returns and count them in the same tally as everyone else.

Mail is charged only on the pieces actually mailed. The voting window spans days, not one Sunday morning.

Seven question types on one screen, none of them behind a plan.

A board of directors ballot: three candidate cards with statements and a select-up-to-three rule.
Vote

Your homeowners see this.

A board ballot with candidate statements, on any phone or computer.

The live results view: ballots counted, quorum reached, and candidate vote bars with leading markers.
Watch

You watch quorum and the tally, live.

Ballots counted as they arrive, quorum tracked, seats called when voting closes.

Secure, Transparent, and Easy-to-Implement HOA Voting Solution

I especially appreciated the platform’s focus on voter verification, auditability, ballot secrecy, and compliance while still keeping the process simple and affordable for the Association to implement. In our case, setup would have required only a few minutes of effort from management or the Board.

Incredibly useful for us

Incredibly useful for us! We had a very manual process for voting before finding this product - very glad I did.

How it works

From setup to minutes-ready results in four steps

1

Create the vote

Set up the ballot questions, the voting window, and how strong the secrecy should be.

2

Upload the directory

Your membership roster as a CSV. Only the members on it can vote, once each.

3

Members vote

By email link, by text, or by a mailed ballot for members without either. Days, not one Sunday.

4

Present the record

The result, the participation count, and the export for your minutes, ready at close.

Would rather not run it?

For $99 we build it: ballot, roster, notices, and a live election handed to you at open. From $199 we run a digital election end to end: reminders, voter questions, close, tally, certificate, audit package. Both cover up to 100 voters, platform fee included. Larger managed rosters are quoted.

vote.direct provides 2 staff at your meeting to run the ballot station, receive and open returns, count ballots in front of members, and announce the result. On-site staffing starts at $1,000 in addition to the managed election fee. Availability and the final quote depend on the date, location and meeting length.

After the election

The congregational vote is one Sunday. The business meetings, the minutes and the records are the rest of the year. governance.center is our board office for that work, from the same team, and the same person answers the phone.
