Church voting software runs a congregation's votes with the membership roll behind them. It sends each member a ballot, checks that the person voting is on the roll, accepts one ballot per member, counts the result, and leaves a record for the minutes. Churches use it for pastor calls, elder and deacon elections, budgets, bylaw amendments, and building decisions, most often so that members who cannot be at the business meeting can still vote. vote.direct is church voting software priced once per election, with no subscription.

That is decided by your own governing documents, not by us. Most churches are governed by a constitution and bylaws, often alongside Robert's Rules of Order, and many of those documents already permit absentee or electronic voting or can be amended to. Read what your bylaws say about voting method, notice, and quorum before the vote, and record the authorization in your minutes. vote.direct supplies the roster controls, verification, ballot, tally, and record; the authorization to vote this way comes from your documents.

Upload your membership directory as a CSV roster: name and email, phone where you have it. Only people on the roster can open a ballot, each member verifies by email or text message before voting, and each member gets exactly one accepted ballot. Members who are not on the roster are refused with a clear message. For votes that need more assurance, assisted government-ID verification is available at $3.00 per checked voter.

Yes, by mail, and their votes land in the same tally as everyone else. A mailed letter is $3.00 per member: it carries that member's own voting code, and anyone in the household can help them scan it and vote. A full paper packet is $6.00 per member: a printed ballot with a postage-paid return envelope, which we receive and count for you. Mail is charged only on the pieces actually mailed, so a congregation where most members have email pays mail prices only for the few who need it.

Yes. Choose Anonymous mode and the voter-to-ballot link is withheld from leadership, from published results, and from every export, while the roster still records who participated. Choose Sealed ballot mode and the ballot is stored with no link to the member at all: the record shows who voted, never how anyone voted, and the box cannot be opened before the close. Sealed mode is built for the votes where the congregation must be certain no one can ever look.

Yes. A ballot is a web page, so it opens on any phone, tablet, or computer with no app to install and no account to create. Members in the room use the link you sent them, or a printed notice with their own voting code that you hand out at the door. Members at home vote in the same election during the same window, and every ballot lands in one tally. Links go out by email on every election and by text message on paid elections; an election of 25 voters or fewer is free and goes out by email.

Yes. Each question carries its own passing rule: a simple majority, three-fifths, two-thirds, three-quarters, or a percentage you type in. You also choose what the share is measured against, the votes cast or every member on the roll, because a constitution that says two-thirds of those voting and one that says two-thirds of the membership are asking for different things. Quorum is set separately. The results state the rule and whether it was met.

Put the nominees on one question and set how many each member may choose, for example up to four of seven. The ballot refuses a selection past that limit, and write-in candidates can be turned on if your bylaws allow them. A church that affirms each elder or deacon individually can ask a separate yes or no question for each nominee on the same ballot instead.

Yes. One election covers every campus: members vote from wherever they are, the tally is one tally, and the voting window can span days rather than one Sunday, so traveling, homebound, deployed, and shift-working members are all included. Results can be shown live at the business meeting or held until the close.

Elections up to 25 voters are free, which covers most board, committee, and elder votes. Congregation-wide votes are a flat rate by roster size, charged once per election: for example $9.99 up to 100 voters and $24.99 up to 400. Email verification, the live tally, the result record, and exports for your minutes are included at every size, and text messages are included in every paid election. There is no subscription and no per-voter charge.
